Radio Feel Good 100% Soul & Funk
US songbird CASTELLA (Cathy Rebecca Crowell-Thompson, who works out of Long Beach, California) impressed last year with her ‘So Glad I Met You’ which betrayed her gospel roots with it’s soulful attack.
That track is one of the focus cuts on Ms. C’s upcoming (January 7th) EP, ‘Let Me Love You’. The mini-album’s other big focus is her cover of the 1977 Atlanta Rhythm Section song ‘So Into You’ which she describes as “a smooth, sexy, provocative ride, placing you right in the room with someone who isn’t paying attention.” There’s a definite “charged” mood to the recording and who couldn’t resist the lady’s exhortations – lyrically a far cry from Castella’s gospel background but vocally all the gospel fire’s there – it’s just targeted differently!
